HI ALL IM NEW TO THIS FORUM, I AM HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY 2004 FORD GALAXY 1.9TDI, WHILE DRIVING THERE IS A BEARING LIKE NOISE (RUMBLING FROM THE BACK), BUT WHEN I JACK THE CAR UP AND SPIN THE WHEEL I GET A GRINDING TYPE NOISE AS IF THE PADS WERE LOW AND RUBBING. ANY IDEAS WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED.

THANKS IN ADVANCE RAMOND....

could this still be the bearing making this noise..

could be,you could jack the car up spin the wheel and put your ear as close as possible to hear the grauncing noise or iirc good old fashioned mechanics used to use a stethoscope to listen for these sort of things.

as Greggers says, a little trick I used to do was get a screwdriver, and put the blade on the hub nut, and your ear on the plastic end of the driver, and listen for the noise !
